    Our guide was Mario. He was English-speaking, and since I don't speak English (my husband, who does, accompanied me), I enjoyed it like never before. Mario lives it. He goes out of his way, gives more than expected, and had no qualms about explaining something to me in Spanish. It was my best experience with a guide. Because there's nothing better than excellent, otherwise I wouldn't give it to him.

History

Trinity College Dublin was founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth I, when Ireland was still under British rule. One of the seven ancient universities of Great Britain and Ireland, figures including Oscar Wilde, Jonathan Swift, Bram Stoker and Samuel Beckett attended the prestigious university.

The Book of Kells

During your visit, be sure to see the Book of Kells—a stunning, historically significant illuminated manuscript dating back to 800 AD. Then, step into the Old Library's Long Room, a stunning library hall featuring thousands of old books and a high, elegant wooden ceiling.
